 Press Releases

As we learn more about the COVID-19 pandemic, Beacon continues to emphasize that the health and safety of our employees, customers and communities is our most critical concern.  Due to the rapid pace of new information, we continue to provide updates to make you aware of our protocol and help you serve your customers and operate your business.

We understand that the "New Normal" has its own challenges. To help contractors set themselves up for success during these difficult times, we've put together some helpful articles to address the various stages of a project.

Please take a moment to review the entire article series, or click the individual links below:

For many roofing companies and their customers, estimations still need to be made, contracts need to be reviewed and signed and materials need to be ordered and delivered. Roofing projects must still be completed, even if today's challenging business environment means roofers need to seek out new methods for these basic tasks.

    Executing the Project
As state and county governments slowly begin reopening businesses in the coming weeks, business owners are working hard to get back to work safely and efficiently. That includes roofing contractors, who are working on executing the project while adhering to social distancing requirements.

     Digital Contract Signing
The coronavirus has reshaped every aspect of business, from increased sanitizing and cleaning to social distancing requirements. In response, roofing professionals are exploring new ways to conduct essential business remotely, including submitting bids electronically and digital contract signing.

    Project Completion & Roof Cleanup
Coronavirus is changing the way the nation's more than 100,000 roofing businesses must sanitize and clean their jobsites. Roofing cleanup is important throughout the duration of the project, and particularly at the completion. The "new normal" requires new practices, protocols and employee training in order to create a safe and secure environment for workers and clients.

Final Site Inspection and Client Review
A successful roofing project doesn't end when the last nail is in place and all the tools are carted away. The job is only truly finished when there's been a final site inspection and the client is satisfied. But what does wrapping up a roofing project look like in the age of COVID-19?

In the webinar Leadership Strategies & Tactics, Jocko Willink shared the four "laws of combat," a basic strategy utilized by US Navy SEAL teams to ensure the teams operate at their fullest potential. The same four "laws" can be applied to your business.

    1. Cover & Move: Having a shared mission & looking out for other members on your team
    2. Keep things simple
    3. Prioritize & Execute: Ability to identify the most crucial issues, then prioritize and act
    4. Decentralized Command: Creating leaders, not just workers

Jocko also shared the most important characteristics a leader should have, including the ability to: stay humble, take ownership, and get the job done.
